The Queen’s Hotel was built in 1891 and extended along Fraser Street from Oak to Main Street. On January 26, 1937 fire broke out at the Queen’s hotel at the corner of Fraser and and Oak Street. The devastating fire was caused by an overheated furnace pipe, and the hotel was not rebuilt.
